Online Data Ratification Tool
Connect developed a website and web-
based tool for the Healthcare
Commission, to enable participating
health trusts to ratify the data
required for the Trust Star Ratings
Evaluation.
The trust area of the website is a
password-protected interface, allowing
authorised users from each trust to
view data collated by the Healthcare
Commission which relates to their own
specific targets and relevant areas of
focus. Aside from being able to view
the data relating to individual key
targets the user is able to query
and/or comment on individual data
items. This query is then passed to
the Healthcare Commission’s internal
query management system for attention.
The administration area, accessible
only to the Health Commission, enables
staff to maintain and moderate the
site. Data (which may have been
amended to take account of queries
raised by trusts via the tool) is
provided via ad hoc upload to the
website. This data is withheld from
public view until authorised for
publication, meanwhile previously
published versions of the data remain
viewable.
